Hi Everyone!
Contained in this month’s update:
Exciting updates to platforms and general industry news.
What companies are hiring for Radiance Fields, right now!
Let’s get into it!
Industry Updates
Mark Zuckerberg showed an expanded Hyperscape Capture with new scenes that looking stunning. Incredibly, all of these captures were created by the Quest headset camera! On the Vision Pro, Spatial Fields just hit the app store.
Brush released the first formal update to the hardware agnostic platform since the beginning of the year. 3DGS in Houdini plugin GSOPs added a new Histogram node. OctaneRender added gaussian splatting support to Cinema4D Version 2026.
In Blender, a couple of new Plugins emerged. There was free plugin GaussCannon, in addition to V4.0 of KIRI Engine’s Blender Plugin.
Game engine UNIGINE Adds Gaussian Splatting support.
I published a trio of interviews with the NVIDIA team at SIGGRAPH. I spoke to VP of Media & Entertainment, Richard Kerris, Manager of Neural Reconstruction, Nick Schneider, and Director of NVIDIA Research Shalini DeMello.
PlayCanvas unveield their newest compression method, Spatially Ordered Gaussians (Not SOGs).
On the hardware side, DJI unveiled the Mini Pro 5 (not available in the US). GreenValley International released the LiGrip O2 SLAM Scanner, and the XGRIDS PortalCam is still hard to beat. If you’re looking at buying one and want 5% off, consider using code RADIANCEFIELDS.
World Labs unveiled their newest model, Marble, and also released V.1.9 of three.js 3DGS renderer, Spark.
